Be an Upright Citizen, or Just Laugh at Them, Hollywood

Be an Upright Citizen, or Just Laugh at Them
What can you do tonight if there is nothing funny on TV and you only have $5.00 in your pocket because you just had to buy a new radiator for your car? See a show at the Upright Citizen’s Brigade! Sometimes you don’t even need $5.00. Sometimes the shows are free!
The Upright Citizens Brigade was started in New York by comedians Matt Besser, Amy Poehler, Ian Roberts and Matt Walsh. From 1998-2000 they had a sketch show on Comedy Central during which time they opened a theater and improv school in NYC. In 2005, they expanded the theater to LA, so now you can be privy to the ramblings and imaginings of some of the best comics in the country right here in your own backyard

If you have a little more than $5.00 in your pocket, you can take an improv or sketch writing class from their experienced performers and spend long sleepless nights dreaming of how someday you too will be on SNL… or have your own Comedy Central show… …or entertain millions of followers with your Comedy Travel Blog……….
There is always a line around the block for tickets, so reserve them in advance on the UCB website or get there early and sign up on the wait list. I recommend getting there at least 40 minutes early if you are going to do wait list but don’t worry, for most of the shows lot of the wait list gets in.
There are about four shows every night of the week featuring everything from stand-up, to comedy musical reviews, to long-form improv battles, to shows where they project audience members’ facebook pages on a screen and make fun of them. Successful comedians such as Aziz Ansari and Aubrey Plaza came out of the LA UCB training center, sooo you never know who might be a surprise guest or who might be the next big star.
